MISSION & HISTORY.
116 Village was founded with the goal of putting Christian values into action in honor of Deborah Bussey and Roosevelt Wiggins, via initiatives that promote everyone's physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. We are dedicated to saving lives and to building stronger families and communities. Through education, research, advocacy, and a focus on people of all ages. 116 Village is opening up the conversation about mental health and creating lasting change in the way mental health is talked about, cared for, and valued in the United States.
At 116 Village, our mission is to ignite a movement of hope and transformation by empowering people to discover their purpose and walk confidently in their God-given path. We believe that every person deserves a supportive community where they can access the tools and resources needed to overcome obstacles, embrace a future filled with hope and possibility, and make a lasting impact. Through our non-profit organization, we strive to create a ripple effect of love and transformation, where every heart is cherished, every life is empowered, and every community thrives under Christ's embracing love. We motivate people to navigate life's challenges, embrace change, and make a difference in their lives and the world around them, all while honoring the transformative power of Christ's love. We put our faith into action by promoting the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of children, youth, and families in need. Through our holistic initiatives and community outreach programs, we strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve. Our welcoming organization empowers youth through comprehensive support, providing access to quality healthcare and wellness programs, offering educational support, and mentorship opportunities, organizing engaging after-school activities and summer camps, and fostering personal development and leadership skills. We also strengthen families in need by distributing essential supplies and resources, hosting back-to-school drives to ensure children have necessary school materials, organizing holiday gift-giving initiatives to bring joy and hope during difficult times, and connecting families with social services and support networks. Furthermore, we uplift communities through compassionate service, celebrating diversity and fostering unity within our community, partnering with local organizations to address pressing community needs, mobilizing volunteers for community service projects and outreach efforts, and advocating for social justice and equity for all members of our community. By focusing on these key areas of support and service, we aim to create a more just, equitable, and compassionate world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
